Watching baby hawks
Over the past few weeks we’ve been watching two baby hawks – Boo and Scout – hatch and grow. Their parents – Bobby and Rosie – built their nest on a window ledge at New York University in Manhattan, and a video camera streams live footage of all of their activities. Tanabata is a Japanese festival that celebrates the Legend of Tanabata which is told in this slideshow by Yoshi. In present-day Japan, people celebrate by writing wishes on small strips of paper and hanging them on bamboo trees. This tradition is quite beautiful, if you’re lucky enough to see it!
